Electric bikes are bicycles that can operate on human power, electric power or both at the same time. When electric power is kicked in, the bike can travel at speeds up to 20 miles per hour and do so without eating up gasoline or creating emissions in the process. Advantages of electric bikes include: being able to ride longer distances without straining muscles and getting tired, and the ability to go up hills and into the wind much more easily.
